Halloween Style – More Haunted Hangers

Last week I completed a project that’s long been on my to-do list; haunted Halloween hangers.
I opted to make them by decoupaging napkins onto plain wooden hangers, and they came out drop-dead gorgeous.
For me, decoupage (aka Mod Podge) is a fun and relaxing process, but I know that it can be seen as messy and time-consuming for others.
If that’s how you feel about decoupage, fear not, I have another method you can use to elevate your Halloween style, and it comes together quickly and easily.
Let’s get started.
Get It Together
We will need:
Wooden hangers
Halloween scrapbook paper
White paper or cardstock
Pencil
Scissors
Mod Podge
Foam brush
Finger blade or X-Acto knife (optional)

Halloween Style - DIY Haunted Hangers
To begin, I like to make a template by tracing the hanger onto white cardstock, or, if you prefer, you can trace the hanger directly onto your scrapbook paper. Since I plan to make several hangers, I like to make a template to save me time in the long run.

Trace the template onto the scrapbook paper and cut out the pattern. Then flip the template, trace it for the other side, and cut out both pieces.

You will need two for each side of the hanger; one for the left of the center and one for the right.

Brush Mod Podge onto the hanger.

Place your scrapbook paper pattern piece onto the hanger and smooth it down.

Repeat on the other side of the center.

Flip over your hanger and repeat the process.
Use a finger blade or X-Acto knife to remove any overhang if desired.

Lastly, add 2-3 layers of Mod Podge or, if you prefer, spray with a clear coat to seal.

And, just like that, your Halloween style is on point!

I plan to make more hangers in the future using Halloween-themed tissue paper, wrapping paper, and fabric, but if you beat me to it, be sure to share your results.
Until next time, happy haunting.
