I am knee-deep in tinsel, wrapping paper, and disco balls. It is an odd combo, but these are the ingredients for a Christmas parade float for the hubby’s workplace.
2024 is the second year we are participating in our local downtown Parade of Lights. I’m busy cutting foam for signs, testing a snow machine, organizing lighting, and coordinating the design layout.
Thankfully, we have a great crew, but as there are only a few weeks between Trunk or Treat and this event, I’m spending most of my time on this task.
Of course, that means that I haven’t even begun to decorate for Christmas!
Our oldest is coming in from LA for a visit, and he will be greeted by my Halloween decorations – which are still up.
I’m excited to get started decking the halls, especially since I stumbled upon some fun ornaments while scouring Amazon for parade decor.
I don’t do spooky Christmas, but we put up a winter wonderland tree that features natural elements and wildlife.
I think I found the perfect ornament that can pull double-duty for both Halloween and the holidays.
So, here’s what I found.
I love pewter, and this little detailed bat charm ornament is adorable.
Small in stature at under three inches long and only one inch high, this ornament can be tucked into almost any arrangement or used as a charm on a package.
I think a colony of these would look fabulous incorporated into a garland over the fireplace.
Stained glass ornaments are great for displaying year-round, and this one is a show-stopper.
Over nine inches long and four inches high, it’s sure to be noticed whether it’s hung in a window or tucked in your tree.
I love the ash-grey wings on this piece as they remind me of the thin, delicate look of real bat wings.
As a lover of bats, I think this one might be my next purchase.
I don’t have any littles on my list this year, but I still found this Merry Christmas bat ornament to be just too cute.
This ceramic ornament features a bitty bat tangled in Christmas lights and would be great as a first Christmas keepsake.
Why be serious when you can be silly?
This glass-blown ornament features a bat with a giant grin.
There are no fangs on this flying fox, but he’s pretty tiny at under two inches square, so his bite would be more of a nibble.
And, finally, this old-world-charm clip-on bat ornament. At just under five inches long, this blown glass bauble adds a vintage vibe to the holiday display.
This ornament transitions beautifully from fall to Christmas, and I wasted no time adding it to my collection.
It is gorgeous! I love blown glass, and I already have plans to display him in the office after the holidays.
Love the Old World Santa artwork on the box.
Look at that face!
The tag includes a brief bit about bats.
Well, those are my top five bat ornaments that I found on Amazon.

That was a fun detour but I’ve got to get back to my Christmas parade duties.
Until next time – stay spooky.
