Skeleton Coffin Bookmarks Free Printable for Spooky Reads

Skeleton Coffin Bookmarks

Skeleton Coffin Bookmarks

I love books – ebooks, audiobooks, and especially physical books. As a child, I read everything I could get my hands on: comics, hardcovers, paperbacks, magazines, encyclopedias, and even the back of cereal boxes at the breakfast table. (I grew up pre-digital.)

I still love to read, and though I don’t have as much time for mysteries and fanciful tales, I have curated a decent collection of non-fiction books, most pertaining to Halloween and costuming.

Books For The Halloween Lover

And, in all these books filled with information, ideas, and inspirations, I tend to mark points of interest with scraps of paper, napkins, and sticky tabs. But I’ve been on a mission to replace all those markers with proper bookmarks.

So far, I’ve designed several bookmarks ranging from creepy-cute to elegant. Today I decided to concoct something a bit more macabre, so I dug up these coffin place keepers. Each marker features a bony bibliophile ringed with florals and an utterance common to bookworms.

If that sparks an eerie interest in you – let’s dig in.

Let’s Make Skeleton Coffin Bookmarks

For this project, we will need:

White cardstock
Color printer (not shown)
Scissors or a cutting machine – I’m using the Cricut Maker
Adhesive
Hole punch (optional)
Eyelets with eyelet pliers or punch tool (optional)
Tassel, cording, or ribbon (optional)

Skeleton Coffin Bookmarks Supplies

We will also need the Skeleton Coffin Bookmarks Collection from the Haunted Library. Select the PDF to cut by hand or the PTC if machine cutting.

Crafting Coffins

Cut It Out

If cutting by hand, open the Skeleton Coffin Bookmarks Collection PDF in your favorite reader (Adobe, FoxIt, etc.)

Set the Page Size & Handling to print at Actual Size. Print out two of each bookmark onto the cardstock and cut them out.

To machine cut, upload the Skeleton Coffin Bookmarks Collection PTC file to your design software, such as Circut Design Space.

Resize your bookmarks as desired. I sized mine at 2.5 inches by 8 inches.

Use the Print Then Cut feature to cut out two of each bookmark.

Next, glue one coffin bookmark to the back of another to create a two-sided marker that is more sturdy.

We can stop here, or we can give our skeletal friends more upscale accommodations.

First, punch a small hole at the top center of the bookmark. If desired, insert an eyelet through the hole and secure it using the eyelet tool.

String a ribbon or cording through the hole.
