Halloween DIY Skull Banner – super simple and quick to make!
The husband and I went to see the college kiddo this weekend, so I was excited that I would have an opportunity to see some early Code Orange. While we are starting to see a few things locally, our youngest lives in a larger city, so I was sure I would see Halloween popping out from every corner. Unfortunately, the bounty I see on my social media feeds has not yet trickled into middle America so, while there were some bits here and there, I’m still waiting for the flood.
No worries. I’m more of an observer than a buyer. I have a lot of Halloween already, and I’m to the point that I like to create my own one-of-a-kind Halloween pieces. I like having items that work with my spooky style and ones that also fit the display area. (Full disclaimer should the hubby be reading this blog – that’s not to say that I won’t be picking up any new Halloween this season. Just saying.)
And that brings us to this little project.
I’ve mentioned before that I love banners, and they are everywhere in stores. But, the problem I run into when I find a banner that I like; it is often not the color scheme I want, or it’s the wrong size for where I want to use it. So, today, I’ve got a super simple DIY skull banner that you can cut, connect, and customize to fit your style and space.
DIY Skull Banner
This banner is so easy that you don’t even need a tutorial, but you will need the free PDF printout or SVG cut files which you can find in the Haunted Library.
You will also need scrapbook paper and ribbon to complete this project.
There are three skull faces to choose from. Select your skull expression or mix and match. There are no rules here.
Reduce or enlarge the skulls to the desired size and cut as many as you need to get the banner length you want.
Cut out each skull, arrange side by side, and slide the tabs into the adjoining slots.
Trim off the end skull’s tab. Glue ribbon onto the back of each end skull.
And, your custom skull banner is good to go!
